Gandhi Jayanthi
The programme started with a prayer song by Darsana V S, First Year B Ed student. Ajmal Sadique, Union Chairman of GCTE, delivered the welcome speech and Dr Jayasree T K, Principal, G.C.T.E the presidential address. Dr. V.K. Santhosh Kumar sir spoke on how Gandhiji had strengthened his followers towards success through truth and non- violence and how he had given scope, where there had been none. He also emphasized on Gandhiji’s long term vision, self confidence and righteousness which empowered the nation as a whole. His words challenged us, being teacher- trainees, to keep ourselves inspiring to change the world, as proved by Gandhiji. Dr V K Sobha, Vice- Principal, G.C.T.E, conveyed felicitations to the programme.
The cultural programmes followed the inauguration added to the gorgeousness of the event. The First Year B Ed students, Darsana S, Krishna M S, Thalhana Rahman, recited renowned poems and songs on Gandhiji. Sister Sheeba, First Year B Ed student and Mustafa, First Year M Ed student shared some Gandhian thoughts. Vishnu S Nair, First Year B Ed student, presented an excellent video presentation on the life of Gandhi and the nation envisaged by Gandhi. Krishna S Jayan, Union Secretary, GCTE, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was attended by students from B.Ed, M.Ed, along with other esteemed faculty members of the G.C.T.E Family. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
